Traveling Village has officially started | TV Podcast ep 1
Description
After 2 weeks into Traveling Village, we are ready with our very first podcast episode.
Asha, Kiran and Nikolaj give a behind-the-scenes story of the start and how it has all been. We talk about how the project got started, a bit about the structure, and a lot about what's going on in the Village.
Our first episode is an introduction and covers a lot of different things. In future episodes, we will dig more into specific things.
In the episode you will meet:
Asha Melvana: Asha is traveling with her 2-year old son Khef
Kiran Pathakota: Kiran was one of the founding families, working more than a year on the project
Nikolaj Astrup: The original founder
As we had a lot to cover, we know that some might need some context for some of the things we mention. Here are some terms we use and what they mean:
Founding family: Traveling Village was started by one family, but got 3 more "founding families" on board. These 4 families have created everything from scratch.
Workgroup: TV has 16 different workgroups consisting of 3-6 TV-members. Workgroups include groups to arrange our communal meals, finance, events and trips, infrastructure and emergency & conflict.
Playgroups: Similar to workgroups, but not something that effects the whole community. We have playgroups for workouts, football, and much more.
Slack: Slack is a group chat system that we have used as our digital town square a year leading up to the trip and is an integral part of the village communication.
